Carver: Texas man injured in rollover crash

Carver MVA 1 6 14Carver Police responded to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Center Street and Wenham Road around 11:15 Saturday night. Reports came in to dispatch of an occupant trapped in a vehicle that had rolled over, so Carver Fire and EMS responded as well. Upon arrival, officers found a 2002 Ford Van with Texas license plates on its side. A passerby had helped the operator exit the vehicle. The driver, a 57 year-old Texas man, was transported to Beth Israel Hospital.

After an investigation, it was determined that the van was traveling too fast for the corner and crashed thru a street sign and a stop sign as well as hitting a snow bank causing the vehicle to slide sideways into the median island where a stone monument was wiped out by the side of the van as it rolled over several times landing on the driver’s side in a yard at 1 Wenham Road. The road was closed for about one hour while crews cleaned up  and the DPW came and plowed and re-sanded the road. The accident is under investigation.

About David Skill

Dave Skill’s radio career began in the fall of 1964 when he arrived on the campus of Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA. Dave barely got his bags unpacked when he paid a visit to WCHC, the campus radio station. And, before he knew it, he was spending so much time as a disc jockey and news writer/reporter, it seemed like he was majoring in “radio” and minoring in academics at “The Cross”. As you might imagine, his grades reflected it! During his junior and senior years, he also worked weekends in news and as a disc jockey at WNEB, the CBS radio affiliate in Worcester at the time.
