Plymouth: Planning Board to discuss housing proposal

In Plymouth tonight, the Planning Board is scheduled to continue its review of phase 1 of a plan ultimately calling for over 100 homes on the Waverly Oaks Golf Course.

The first stage of the plan calls for 30 single family homes. But at full build out, if approved, most of the 113 new homes will be located in what is now the 9 hole golf course at the Waverly Oaks Golf Club on Long Pond Road. It’s estimated that the new development would create about 1100 additional car trips daily on the heavily traveled roadway.

At previous hearings, board members, as well as some residents, expressed concern about the increase in traffic.

Planning Board Chairman Paul McAlduff believes a vote is likely tonight: “It probably will be just for the first 30 units. Now 10 of those units are by right. So we will only be adding on the 20 new units.

The Planning Board meets tonight at Plymouth Town Hall at 7:00.
