Brockton: 2011 car crash lands man behind bars

It’s a-year-and-a-half behind bars for a Plymouth man in a drunk-driving crash.

William Vonberg was behind the wheel of a pickup truck that collided head-on into an S.U.V. in Hingham, injuring two women, one of them permanently.

Vonberg, who was also seriously injured in the 2011 crash, will serve five years probation after his release and will be subjected to random drug and alcohol testing.

In Brockton Superior Court, Dorothy Doyle of Brockton read a victim impact statement in which she said she has undergone several surgeries since the accident and still has trouble walking and using her left hand.
