Wareham: Kitchen fire displaces family

Wareham firefighters were busy during the weekend snowstorm battling a house fire.

Crews were called to the home at 4 Tenth Ave at approximately 1:00 p.m. Saturday.

The blaze displaced a family of six, who were put up temporarily at a hotel by the Red Cross.

Wareham fire officials there’s heavy fire damage in the kitchen with heat and smoke damage throughout the rest of the home.

The total damage is estimated at $100,000 dollars.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
