West Bridgewater: Disciplinary hearing continues Thursday for police officer

A continued disciplinary hearing for a West Bridgewater police officer is planned for Thursday night.

The hearing began last week and was held in executive session by West Bridgewater selectmen.

Very few details have been released about 41-year-old officer Daniel J. Desmond, Jr.

Desmond has been on administrative leave since early December, after a complaint from the attorney’s office concerning his conduct was sent to Bridgewater Police.

On January 10, a judge lifted a restraining order filed against Desmond by a Brockton woman.

The woman claims that on Christmas Eve, Desmond, who also lives in Brockton, went to her home at 11:34 p.m. on Dec. 22.

In a court document, the woman wrote that Desmond, was “completely erratic, hysterical,” had called her from his cell phone at least 15 times, texted her and “began shaking the door knob and ringing the bell.”
