Brockton: Bar fight erupts over stolen cigarettes

A fight at a Brockton bar between two local men lands one in the hospital and the other in court.

Police were called to Telly’s Alamo Café on Legion Pkwy late Fridy night.

They say Brian Pettiford and the unidentified victim were arguing over stolen cigarettes when Pettiford pulled a knife and stabbed the other man.

Pettiford was apparently trying to sell the victim the cigarettes.

Customers subdued Pettiford and called police, who say the two men know each other and the stabbing was not random.

The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Pettiford will appear in Brockton District Court on Monday.
