Brockton: Local man arrested in major heroin bust will appear in court

A big drug bust in Brockton will land a local man in court on Monday, thanks to joint federal, state, and local investigation.

Plymouth County D.A. Tim Cruz told WATD that on February 28, authorities received information regarding heroin trafficking involving suspect Cody Goncalves at his home at 12 Addison Ave. in Brockton.

Cruz said surveillance was set up at the home and another location where a major heroin transaction was planned.

As Goncalves approached the area he spotted police and fled on foot.

Officers arrested him and found 150 grams of heroin, 3.5 grams of cocaine, and more than $330 in his pants pocket.

A search of Goncalves’ home uncovered another 250 grams of heroin, as well as three guns, ammunition,  some $40,000 in cash, and drug paraphernalia.
