Duxbury: Voters elect new Town Clerk

Duxbury voters elected a new Town Clerk on Saturday, the only contested race.

Susan Kelley, the Executive Assistant to Town Manager Rene Read, won all five precincts to become the next Clerk with 571 votes.

Challengers Catherine Callahan and Jacqueline Oates-Haskell had 412 votes and 129 votes, respectively.

Maureen Hermann withdrew from the race.

Oates, who served as Duxbury Town Clerk for 31 years, is retiring, so Kelley will fill out the final two years of Oates’ three-year term.
