Plymouth: Planning Board to consider Waverly Oaks Proposal

In Plymouth tonight, the Planning Board will review, for the fourth time, a plan calling for over 100 homes on the Waverly Oaks Golf Course.

The first stage of the plan, as originally presented, proposed 30 single family homes. But at full build out, most of the 113 new homes would be located in what is now the 9 hole golf course at the Waverly Oaks Club, located on Long Pond Road. That density would have created about 1100 additional car trips daily on the heavily traveled roadway.

In the Planning Board’s previous evaluation of the project, members objected to several aspects of the proposal, including density and the proximity to Long Pond Road.

Paul McAlduff chairs the Board and says the proponent, Long Pond Golf, LLC, will likely present a revised plan: “We’re expecting them to come in with a totally new plan that will spread the development out, so there will be less impact on Long Pond Road.” The Planning Board meets tonight at Plymouth Town Hall at 7:00.
