Weymouth: Authorities to hold two drug take-back programs

Weymouth residents will have the chance to take part in two prescription drug take-back programs next month.

They’ll be held at the D.P.W. from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. April 5, and 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m  April 26.

The second one will also involve other South Shore communities as part of the D.E.A.’s annual nationwide program.

Authorities say residents can bring their old prescriptions, no questions asked.

The drugs will be taken to another site and incinerated.

Since 2010, Weymouth has collected more than two tons of medications from 12 take-back programs.
