Pembroke: Three alarm fire Monday afternoon fueled by strong winds

A three alarm fire Monday afternoon in Pembroke appears to have been started by a rekindled weekend permit fire on Phillips Road.

The call of fire came in just before 12:30 p.m. Monday at 91 Phillips Road, with a wind whipped brush fire, quickly building to a three alarm fire.

Duxbury, Hanson, and Halifax provided mutual aid at the scene, with Kingston providing station coverage.

Pembroke Fire says the home at 91 Phillips Road is now uninhabitable, with around $300,000-$350,000 in damage.

Homes on either side of the house also suffered some minor smoke damage. A shed was also damaged.

A neighbor was able to get the homeowners dog out safely. No injuries were reported.
