Plymouth: Final arrangements set for fallen officer

Final arrangements are set for fallen Plymouth police officer Gregg Maloney.

The wake will be Monday at Memorial Hall, 83 Court St. in Plymouth.

Law enforcement will begin a walk-through at 3 p.m.

Members of the public will be invited to pay their respects from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Officer Maloney’s funeral Mass will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. across the street at St. Peter’s Church, 86 Court St.

Following Mass, burial will take place at Vine Hills Cemetery on Samoset St.

The following road closures and traffic restrictions will be in place:

WAKE–April 7

There will be no parking on Court St. between Samoset St. and Chilton St. throughout the day starting at 6 a.m.

Court St. will be closed between Samoset St. and Chilton St. starting at 1 p.m. for the duration of the wake.

There will also be no parking behind the Memorial Mall throughout the day.

Memorial Dr. will be closed all day.

FUNERAL–April 8

There will be no parking on Court St. between Lothrop St. and Brewster St. starting at 6 a.m.

Court St. will be closed between Samoset St. and Brewster St. starting at 8 a.m. for the duration of the funeral.

Memorial Dr. and Vernon St. will also be closed.

There will be no parking behind Memorial Hall, South Park Ave., and Vernon St.

The funeral procession will leave St. Peter’s Church and head north on Court St., then west on Samoset St. to Vine Hills Cemetery for interment.

Samoset St. will be closed during this time.

In addition, off-ramps at Exit 6 off of Rte. 3 will be shut down during the funeral procession.

PUBLIC PARKING

Public parking will be available on Water St., the East Bay Grill, and the Radisson Hotel.

Meter enforcement will not be in effect during wake and funeral hours.

Officer Maloney died last Tuesday after his police motorcycle was involved in an accident.

He was a 17-year veteran of the department, and leaves behind a wife and two boys.
