Randolph: Teen fatally struck by truck trailer

RANDOLPH, Mass. (AP) – Randolph police say a 17-year-old girl has died after she was struck by a truck trailer.

The Enterprise of Brockton reports that Tonnecia Long was struck Thursday and died later at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital. She was a senior at the Russell School in Brockton.

Randolph Police Chief William Pace said the teen was walking home from a convenience store when she was hit by the rear wheels of the trailer unit in Crawford Square.

He said police are investigating the accident, including whether Long may have been distracted at the time.
