Hanover: Town meeting has articles for medical marijuana, the Sylvester School and three fire stations

A zoning bylaw change concerning medical marijuana and a proposed study for the replacement of Fire Stations 1, 2 and 3 with a new fire station, are among the warrant articles for tonight’s Town Meeting in Hanover.

The warrant for the Annual Town Meeting has 66 articles.

The warrant has requests for new equipment for the Fire Department, including self-contained breathing apparatus and new portable radio equipment.

The Police Department is looking for funding for two new police vehicles and two police motorcycles.

Money is also being requested for a feasibility study for The Sylvester Elementary School. The town is seeking grant money from the Massachusetts School Building Authority for the Sylvester School.

The Special Town Meeting warrant has eight articles. Among them is a money transfer for snow and ice removal and also a lease for the installation of solar panels in town.

Hanover Town Meeting is scheduled to get underway at 7:30 p.m. at Hanover High School
