Rockland: Southfield and marijuana facilities to be decided at Town Meeting

Rockland’s Annual and Special Town Meeting are taking place tonight.

The Special Town Meeting warrant addresses a number of issues including a deficit in the snow and ice removal account, and emergency mitigation for special education costs.

On the Annual Town Meeting warrant are a number of requests for vehicles and equipment for the Fire, Police and Highway Departments.

One other warrant article deals with medical marijuana facilities in town.

Another is to fund full-day kindergarten in Rockland.

Articles 50 and 51 on the Annual Town Meeting warrant are about legislation concerning Starwood, the developer of the old South Weymouth Naval Air Station, and the South Shore Tri-Town Development Corporation.

Town meeting starts at 7:00 p.m at Rockland High School.

About David Skill

Dave Skill’s radio career began in the fall of 1964 when he arrived on the campus of Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA. Dave barely got his bags unpacked when he paid a visit to WCHC, the campus radio station. And, before he knew it, he was spending so much time as a disc jockey and news writer/reporter, it seemed like he was majoring in “radio” and minoring in academics at “The Cross”. As you might imagine, his grades reflected it! During his junior and senior years, he also worked weekends in news and as a disc jockey at WNEB, the CBS radio affiliate in Worcester at the time.
