The Norfolk D.A. is investigating the death of a baby girl in Weymouth who was under the watch of the state Department of Children and Families.
The two-month-old had stopped breathing in her family’s room at the Super 8 motel on Washington St. last Thursday morning, and was taken to a hospital after her father called 911.
The D.A.’s office says an autopsy did not find any trauma or injury indicating foul play.
D.C.F. says it had recently opened a case with the family, but isn’t saying why.
The agency has been roiled by harsh criticism after the recent deaths of several children in its care, prompting commissioner Olga Roche to resign late last month.
