Quincy: Authorities seek assistance in identifying body

Quincy and State Police are asking the public’s help in determining the identity of a body found at the water’s edge at around 5:00 a.m. Sunday.

The remains are those of a black woman who was wearing a silver necklace and had a yellow “Livestrong” wrist band on her left wrist with a tattoo on her right wrist of the word “Forever” written in cursive, along with three initials in stylized script that could not be easily discerned.

The woman, wearing a black bathing suit covered by a black terry cloth towel, was spotted by an area resident walking in the vicinity of 734 Sea St.

Authorities say there are no obvious indications of foul play or cause of death.

An autopsy is expected on Monday.

Anyone with information is asked to call State Police at (508) 820-2121.
