Bourne: South Shore woman walks away from fiery crash

A Bridgewater woman is lucky to be alive after her car hit a guardrail on Cape Cod before dawn Saturday that left the vehicle engulfed in flames.

Bourne Deputy fire chief David Pelonzi told WATD it happened in the area of Handy Rd. and Roberta Ave.

Crews arrived at about 3:00 a.m. to find the unidentified woman standing near her Jeep, which was fully engulfed in flames.

She was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Pelonzi said no one else was hurt and authorities are looking into the cause of the crash.
