Cohasset: Selectmen discuss future goals and objectives

The Cohasset Board of Selectmen met Tuesday night, to formulate a list of 6 goals and objectives they’d like to see accomplished this year.

One of those goals is to enforce the laws pertaining to the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages.

Selectmen Vice-Chair Steve Gaumer discussed the issue and said, “Taking on the liquor enforcement policies and finally adopting them – which is something that we haven’t done.”

Another goal, suggested by Selectman Karen Quigley, is to make an attempt to get more people interested in town issues by promoting more involvement in town meeting.

“The concept of gaining more activity and involvement from the town as a whole at town meeting – I believe the way she said it at the time was that she would love to have as a goal, to have the town meeting to be the most important thing that’s taking place in the community that day, which, if you think about it, is a pretty powerful statement!” Gaumer explained.

The board will continue their discussion on goals and objectives at their next meeting.
