Kingston: Rebello’s life to be celebrated

Final goodbyes will be said Monday for beloved former Kingston police chief Joe Robello, tragically killed in a motorcycle accident in Vermont one week ago.

A celebration of Rebello’s life will be held at the Indian Pond Country Club in Kingston at 11:00 a.m., and everyone is encouraged to wear Hawaiian attire.

Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to support the recovery of another retired Massachusetts police chief, Rebello’s friend and riding companion, Richard Braga, who was severely injured in the accident.

The Hudson Massachusetts Police Association has established a recovery fund at the Hudson Municipal Employees Federal Credit Union at 25 South Street Plaza in Hudson, account number 2187.

Rebello, who retired last year, is survived by a wife and two children.

A Vermont driver plowed into the men head-on, but the circumstances of the crash remain under investigation, and at last check no charges had been filed.
