Brockton: Another child struck and killed in motor vehicle accident

No criminal charges have been filed in connection with a motor vehicle accident that claimed the life of a three year old child in Brockton.

This is the second fatal accident involving a young child in Brockton in the past two weeks.

Around 4:45 p.m.on Friday, Brockton Police received a number of calls reporting that a child had been struck by a motor vehicle on Hervey Street.

When police arrived, they saw the driver of the vehicle, who had stopped and stayed at the scene after the accident.

The child, Casiam Modesto of Brockton, was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section and the Crime Scene Services Section also responded.

The accident remains under investigation.
