Marshfield: Scuba diver medflighted to hospital after diving accident

A 68-year-old man was taken to Mass. General Hospital via medflight Tuesday afternoon after a scuba diving incident in Green Harbor.

Marshfield Deputy Fire Chief William Hocking confirmed the man was conscious when brought to shore by boat.

Early reports said the man was unconscious when he surfaced from a green harbor dive, reportedly 100 feet deep.

The man was taken to Mass. General to be checked out.

Mass. General has a hyperbaric chamber that can be used help in recovery after diving accidents, which can help in the treatment of decompression sickness.
