Marshfield: Three arrested after home invasion

Three people, including a mother and son, face charges in connection with a Marshfield home invasion.

Marshfield Detective Sergeant Kevin Morris says a female victim was found beaten and bloody after a 9-1-1 call early last Friday morning.

The victim identified one of the alleged attackers right away as Edward Berrio. The other two were wearing masks.

30 year old Edward Berrio was arrested a short time later, at his mother’s apartment on Ocean Street.

Also arrested, reportedly walking away from the apartment where the incident took place, was 28 year old Lisa Vosmus, of Pembroke.

The last person to be arrested was 49 year old Kathleen O’brien, who is Edward Berrio’s mother. She’s suspected of taking part in the attack, as well.

Sergeant Morris says he believes the trio was looking for heroin.

Police found evidence of a struggle in the apartment where they say the woman was attacked. They also found a small amount of what is believed to be heroin.

All three are facing multiple charges including home invasion, assault in in a dwelling while armed, armed robbery, assault and battery dangerous weapon, assault and battery and attempt to commit a crime-to wit kidnapping, and being present where heroin is knowingly kept.

Berrio’s bail was set at $30,000. Lisa Vosmus’s bail was set at $20,000, and Kathleen O’brien’s was set at $5,000.

All three are due back in court on September 10th for a probable cause hearing.
