Norwell: Selectmen disclose Town Administrator reviews

Norwell selectmen disclosed their reviews of Town Administrator Jim Boudreau at their meeting Wednesday night.

Each board member shared comments and disclosed their own personal reviews.

The board praised Boudreau for a doing a great job, especially given this is the first year that the Board of Selectmen has transitioned from a 3 to 5 member board.

However, one improvement the board would like to see is to have the Town Administrator work more on personnel management issues.

Selectman Tammie Garner said, “An improvement would be working a little bit more in terms of the personnel management side of things, which I have had more exposure to just being on the personnel board. With that said, that fails to recognize the incredible value he’s provided us in his work on our contracts with the union negotiating and all of that, because that’s been tremendous.”

Selectman David DeCoste gave Boudreau high marks.

“Overall I think I gave him straight ‘meets or exceeds improvements’ in most everything. I do agree with Tammie – I know how much work goes into the preparation of the town meetings, and having sat through some really inept town meetings in other places, I can tell you that the meetings that I participated in where Jim has overseen them, have really been superb. They’re very well done – likewise, the budget preparation.”

Overall selectmen say Boudreau is doing a good job.
