Wareham: Firefighters battle 2nd alarm blaze

Wareham firefighters were able to knock down a structure fire that went to a second alarm fire.

The incident occurred just after midnight at the Home Depot on Cranberry Highway.

It took crews about 20 minutes to extinguish the blaze. Fire officials credit the sprinkler system with containing the fire.

The blaze caused approximately $300,000 in damage.  The cause of the fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s office.
