Plympton: Man Rescued After Falling in Septic Tank

man has been rescued after falling into a septic tank on Forest Street in Plympton Tuesday afternoon.

Plympton Fire Chief Warren Borsari said it happened around 3:30 PM – a man, who has not been named, fell into a below-ground septic tank.

“The victim was standing in waste-deep water yelling for help,” said Borsari.

First responders secured the man with a life safety rope but were unable to extricate him.

The Plymouth County Technical Rescue Team was activated. The team is made up of 70 firefighters from the 27 cities and towns in the county.

Upon arrival, the tech rescue team set up a tripod and with additional manpower managed to get the man out of the tank. The victim was decontaminated and transported to a local hospital.
