Duxbury: Police Seize Drugs, Money After Car Crash


Duxbury Police officers responded to an early morning motor vehicle crash have arrested the driver and seized drugs and cash from the vehicle.

Just after midnight Thursday, officers responded to the intersection of Church and Tremont Streets, where they discovered a single vehicle had collided with several sign posts.

23-year-old James Bako-Berry of Pembroke was at the scene and identified as the driver. Based on observations made at the scene, officers arrested Bako-Berry for Operating Under the Influence of Liquor, Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, an Open Container Violation, and a Stop Sign Violation.

Officers searching the vehicle found quantities of several types of illegal drugs, packaging supplies, and over $20,000 cash.

All of these items were seized and additional charges of Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class B Substance (2 Counts), Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class C Substance, and Possession With Intent to Distribute a Class D Substance were added to the original motor vehicle charges.

Preliminary tests on the drugs were positive for Cocaine, Methamphetamine, Marijuana and Hashish.
