Marshfield: 6 of 11 Finalists Interviewing for New Charter Review Committee Monday Night

Now that Marshfield Selectmen have narrowed the field of candidates to eleven, for the newly formed Charter Review Committee, the board will begin conducting interviews with the finalists tonight, Monday, December 14.

“We will be interviewing six this evening and five at our following meeting next Monday night. Our goal is to seat a committee of seven people with two alternates by the end of the year,” said Selectmen Chairman Matt McDonough.

Also tonight, says McDonough, a further discussion and possible action on the Mission Statement for the Charter Review Committee.

“We want to make sure the particular group knows they will have all the resources of town hall at their disposal, and we want to encourage them to look at everything from top to bottom,” said McDonough.

And the board is expected to vote to approve the issuance and details of a bond to the Executive Office of Environmental Affairs concerning the town’s seawalls.

“We were, fortunately, the recipient of an approximately $4 million program from the state. $1.9 of that money is going to be a low-interest, 2% interest bond, and the other is a $2 million grant from the State of Massachusetts,” said McDonough.

Marshfield Selectmen meet at 7:15 p.m. tonight, Decemeber 14.

About David Skill

Dave Skill’s radio career began in the fall of 1964 when he arrived on the campus of Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA. Dave barely got his bags unpacked when he paid a visit to WCHC, the campus radio station. As you might imagine, his grades reflected it! During his junior and senior years, he also worked weekends in news and as a disc jockey at WNEB, the CBS radio affiliate in Worcester at the time...
