The suspect in Thursday’s road rage incident in Braintree has been arrested. Mario Roman, 32, of Quincy was reportedly arrested in Somerset Friday by Braintree Police, with assistance from detectives assigned to the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office and Massachusetts state police crime scene services.

Braintree and state police are investigating after a 30-year-old Randolph man was severely injured when he was stabbed multiple times in an apparent road rage altercation in Braintree.

Authorities say the incident began when the two men were driving in the area near the intersection of Granite Street and Forbes Road late Thursday (Jan. 7) afternoon.

Police say both motorists exited their cars on Granite Street near North Street and got into a heated argument that ended with the Randolph man being stabbed several times.

The victim was taken to Boston Medical Center, where he underwent surgery; he is expected to survive.

Witnesses were able to provide police with a description of the vehicle after the attacker fled the scene.

Roman will be arraigned in Quincy District Court later today on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and assault with intent to maim and murder.
