Plymouth: Town Officials Join Forces with Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station to Look at Ways to Best Handle Repercussions of Plant Shutdowns

The Entergy Working Group, –the town’s team of local, regional and legislative officials, meet today with their counterparts from Vernon, Vermont who have been dealing with the shutdown, in 2014, of the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station….

Jessica Casey does double duty as Plymouth’s Economic Development Director and as a member of the Entergy Working Group.  She says the group has been reaching out …

“…to host communities that have had plants that have closed and are going through the decommissioning process currently so we can understand what to expect and how those conversations happen between different stakeholders as well as the communications between the town and Entergy itself,” said Casey.

The joint meeting of Vernon’s Decommissioning Advisory Panel and the Entergy Working Group is today at 1 p.m. at the Plymouth Chamber of Commerce.
