Norwell: Firefighters, Paramedics Help Deliver ‘Beautiful Baby Girl’

Firefighters in Norwell responded to a special call early this morning, Thursday, May 12.

“At 6:12 this morning we received a call for a medical emergency on Grove Street,” Norwell Fire Chief Andy Reardon told WATD.

“We were told there was a pregnant woman there. On arrival, she was in active labor. The firefighters, paramedics, along with the homeowners assisted with the birth and delivery of a beautiful baby girl.”

Lately, the Norwell Fire Department has been no stranger to child births.

“This is the second child birth the Norwell Fire Department has attended in the last month. One was out on Route 3, and this one was on our Grove Street,” said Chief Reardon.

The mother, father and child were transported to a local hospital where the whole family is doing well.
