Cohasset: Jaws of Life Used to Free Elderly Woman From Car After Crash

Cohasset Police responded to a report of a car off the road with a person trapped on Route 3A near Stop and Shop around 7:20 a.m. Sunday.

Arriving officers found a 2011 Nissan Altima wedged between a utility pole, a tree and a stone wall, with a 73-year-old Hingham woman trapped inside.

The Cohasset Fire Department was called, and they brought the Jaws of Life.

It took crews about an hour to free her, and had to work under adverse conditions such as the heat and a lot of poison ivy.

The unidentified woman has serious but not life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
