Halifax: Two Arrested, Facing Prostitution Related Charges

Two people are facing charges prostitution related charges following their arrest on Tuesday.

Halifax Police say the arrests followed a several week investigation conducted after they received information about a backpage.com ad which offered sex for a fee.

The ad was answered by an undercover officer and that lead to the arrests of 24-year-old Shayne Barry on a charge of sexual conduct for a fee and 25-year-old Nicholas Butler who was charged with derive support from prostitution.

Both suspects live at the same address.

Barry and Butler were arraigned Wednesday in Plymouth District Court.
