Bridgewater: 7-Year-Old Boy Hit by Vehicle in Crosswalk

A Harvard man is being charged in connection with hitting a 7-year-old boy while he was crossing the street in Bridgewater.

Emergency personnel responded to the intersection of Center and Mt. Prospect streets at approximately 3:30 p.m. where they found the boy who had been struck by a pick-up truck.

The boy was riding a scooter and crossing the street in a crosswalk with his mother when he was hit.

He was transported to a Boston hospital with serious injuries.

The 31-year-old man remained at the scene of the accident.

The driver was cited for “Failure to Stop for A Pedestrian in a Crosswalk” and the incident remains under investigation by the Bridgewater Police Department.
