Abington: Giving and Taking Tree at Police Station Benefits the Senior Center

In Abington, a partnership between the Police Department and the Senior Center that created the “Giving Tree” has now grown into the “Giving and Taking tree”

That’s Abington Police Chief, David Majenski, who says the idea is for residents to take a piece of paper off the tree that has an item written on it, go purchase the item and then return it to the police station for it to be delivered to the Senior Center.

The community showed such strong support by buying presents and other items to leave under the tree that now the program has been named the “Giving and Taking Tree”

Majenski asks that any items for senior citizens be brought to the police station by December 15th so they can be delivered to the Abington Council on Aging.
