Weymouth: South Shore Hospital Awarded Contract for Town’s Emergency Ambulance Service

Coming out on top after a very competitive process, South Shore Hospital has been awarded a contract with Weymouth’s Emergency Ambulance Service.

Making good on a campaign promise, Mayor Bob Hedlund requested proposals from different providers in order to ensure Weymouth residents will receive the best medical services.

Hedlund says South Shore Health System will act as more than just an ambulance service and deliver integrated health care.

Hedlund says South Shore Hospital will increase staffing with about 40 new employees as well as have a new facility to garage new equipment in order to serve Weymouth as the new primary ambulance provider.
