Avon: Serious Motor Vehicle Crash Shuts Down Rt. 24 NB

A serious motor vehicle crash on rt. 24 northbound earlier today remains under investigation.

State police report around 2 AM, two vehicles crashed, one of them striking a utility pole.

A 23-year-old woman in the passenger seat of one of the vehicles was ejected and taken to Mass General by med-flight, with serious injuries.

Another woman, believed to be the driver of the same vehicle was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital, in Brockton.

The victims in the first car continued to travel off the road and strike the pole, according to a preliminary investigation.

The operator of the second car, a man, was taken to a local hospital.

No names or conditions have been released yet.

Portions of the roadway were shut down this morning for several hours.
