Braintree: Weymouth Man Arrested for OUI, Causing 4-Car Crash That Injures Two

A Weymouth man will be arraigned Monday in Quincy District Court for his role in an early morning incident that involved four vehicles and injured two people. State Police responded Saturday just after midnight to reports of an accident involving multiple vehicles on Route 93 Southbound at Exit 6 in Braintree

State Police say 25-year-old Randall Barbosa was merging his BMW M5 onto Route 93 South from Route 3 North at a high rate of speed, when he rear-ended a Lexus ES300, which was merging into the left lane at the time. Following that initial collision, Barbosa continued southbound and struck a Toyota Sequoia, which resulted in a collision between the Sequoia and a Toyota Camry, both of which were traveling south at the time.

A 25-year-old Weymouth man, who was traveling in the BMW, was transported to Boston Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries. A 20-year-old Lynn man, who was a passenger in the Lexus, was transported to South Shore Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.

Barbosa was placed under arrest for Operating Under the Influence of Liquor, Causing Serious Injuries and Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle. He was also cited for speeding. He was booked at the State Police barracks in Milton where he is being held on $7,500.00 until his arraignment in Quincy.
