Halifax: Town Gets State Money For Playground Project

A state grant is helping Halifax build a new playground.

Town Administrator Charlie Seelig tells WATD News the work will focus on making the playground more accessible to all.

Seelig said he believes the state decided to support the project because of the benefit it would provide to the area as a whole.

While saying that the funds are welcome Seelig says there’s still more fundraising to be done before the project can be completed.

Halifax wasn’t the only South Shore community to receive funding through the PARC program with Middleborough receiving $50,000 for bridge repairs and stonework renovation at Oliver Mill Park and Plymouth receiving over $341,000 for revitalization efforts at Holmes Park.
