Plymouth: School Committee/Selectmen Looking Into Creating a Joint Facilities Department

Plymouth town government maintains 34 buildings, fleets of cars and trucks and an IT network. Plymouth schools maintain 13 buildings, fleets of cars and trucks and an IT network.

When selectmen and the school committee met Tuesday night to discuss the $120 million school budget, newest selectman, Betty Cavacco, raised an old idea.

Why don’t the two sides of local government consolidate what they duplicate.
