Wareham: Male Hospitalized After Being Struck By Vehicle

One person has been hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle outside a car wash.

Onset fire officials say that at around 1:14 p.m. Thursday crews responded to Soft Touch Car Wash  at 3083 Cranberry Highway over a report of a person who was struck by a motor vehicle and possibly still trapped underneath.

A Wareham Police Officer arrived on scene first and confirmed a party had been struck, dragged a short distance and was trapped under the vehicle in the parking lot.

Fire crews arrived on scene and used hydraulic rescue tools to raise the vehicle off of the victim.

The victim, identified only as a male, was taken to a Boston area trauma center with significant life threatening injuries.

OSHA and the Wareham Police Department are investigating.
