Halifax: Residents Petition for a Dog Park, Looking to Get Article on Town Meeting Warrant

A small citizens’ group in Halifax is petitioning to get a dog park in town and that group might get a dog park article on the annual Town Meeting warrant right in the nick of time.

Halifax Town Administrator Charlie Seelig says the unofficial “Dog Park Committee” is trying to draft an article getting voters on board to apply for a grant for the potential dog park’s design:

However, according to Seelig, Halifax town officials aren’t exactly thrilled with the dog park proposal:

The “Dog Park Committee” has until this Thursday–March 1st–to submit their article for the Town Meeting warrant. A grant for the dog park will not be provided if the article does not pass at Halifax’s Annual Town Meeting, which is scheduled for May 14th at Halifax Elementary School.
