Hanson: Town Votes to Fund the Completion of Maquan School Closure

All three articles on the agenda for Hanson’s winter Special Town Meeting receive voter approval in a matter of minutes.

Residents also voted to appropriate over $555,000 in town funds to move full speed ahead on the closing of Maquan Elementary. Maquan’s preschool program will move to Whitman-Hanson Regional High School, and grades K-2 will move to Indian Head Elementary.

5th graders will be bumped up into Hanson Middle School, and special needs students will have their programs moved to Duval Elementary.

Hanson’s annual Town Meeting will take place at Hanson Middle School this year on Monday, May 7th.
