Rockland: Union Point Project Update

Representatives from the Union Point development delivered an update to the Rockland Board of Selectmen on the status of the massive project.

LStar Division President Matt Barry said Union Point is progressing, with the recent opening of a new recreational complex and playing fields.

“The recreational complex we talked about for a long while was opened at the first of the year. Opening in the winter was a little bit more challenging than opening in the spring, but thought it would be great to bring to the community the opportunity to play. We have two air supported structures covering two fields and come springtime all four fields with be activated, for a great recreational complex.”

Barry said another important project that’s now complete is a major complex with residential units.

“We were able to deliver a large residential complex which started occupying in December of last year. So those two completed projects are fairly significant progress.”

Barry said more staff has been hired at Union Point, along with developing plans to route water from the MWRA into the project, under streets that have not been recently paved.
