Duxbury: Zoning Changes, School Budget Increase and Ban on Pot Shops at Annual Town Meeting

More money for the schools, a ban on pot shops and an expansion of Snug Harbor’s business zone.

That’s part of what Duxbury Town Meeting accomplished in an all-day session Saturday.

The zoning change will allow Island Creek Oysters to lease out space in an office building beside its aquaculture operations on the former Battelle Labs land.

Duxbury will not allow legal sales of marijuana in town. And, after a long, contents debate over the $78 million operating budget, the school system will increase its budget by $101,000.
