Plymouth: Entergy Sells Vermont Yankee Power Plant to NorthStar

Entergy, the company which owns the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station, announced the sale fo the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Plant to NorthStar, who along with partner Areva, would decommission the plant and clean up the site. However, that plan has been criticized by the Conservation Law Foundation, with attorney Sandra Levine telling WATD News that Entergy isn’t fully committed to the process.

Entergy Vice-President Mike Twomey disputes that saying they have committed sufficient resources to make sure the project succeeds.

WATD News asked Twomey if he planned to use the same firm to decommission the Pilgrim plant.

Pilgrim will cease operations in 2019.
