Brockton Police

A West Bridgewater man is facing charges in connection with a deadly weekend crash in Brockton.

The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office says 22-year-old Robert Kilday was arrested around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in connection with the Friday night crash on East St.

Emergency crews were called to the scene of a crash a little before 7:30 p.m. after receiving several 911 calls.

Upon arrival they found a two-vehicle crash involving a Ford F-150 driven by Kilday and a Saturn driven by 54-year-old Jorge Leite.

Kilday was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Leite had to be extracted from his vehicle before being taken to Brockton Hospital.

He was then transferred to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston where he later died from his injuries.

Kilday was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Brockton District Court on one count of Motor Vehicle Manslaughter, Motor Vehicle Homicide by Operating Under the Influence and or .08 or Above, and Reckless Operation.
