MA: Norwell Selectmen Running Write-in Campaign in 5th Plymouth District

A candidate has emerged to run as a Democrat in the 5th Plymouth District against incumbent Republican Dave Decoste, after the original candidate, Deirdre Hall, withdrew her name from the ballot.

Current Norwell Selectman Alison Demong will run a write in campaign for the primary race, needing 150 signatures, to secure a spot on the ballot to run against former Norwell Selectman and current State Rep., Dave Decoste, in the general election in November.

Hall withdrew her candidacy, and took a leave of absence from the Rockland Board of Selectmen, after she made accusations that Town Administrator, Allan Choicca behaved inappropriately towards her.

There is now an ongoing independent investigation into that claim.

The fifth Plymouth District is comprised of Norwell, Hanover, and Rockland.
