Plymouth: Man Rescued from Pond After Kayak Overturns

A call for help coming into Plymouth Fire at 1:47 this afternoon (Monday) from 110 Valley Road, which is the west side of Great Herring Pond, reporting an overturned sailing kayak in the water.

Plymouth Fire Chief Ed Bradley:

Bradley says the man in the water, who lives locally, was in tough shape when he was pulled out.

Bradley says another couple on Great Herring Pond came out in their kayaks to try and help, but they did not call 911 first as he recommends. They were also not wearing life jackets or personal flotation devices.

Plymouth’s Great Herring Pond is about 376 acres in size.

Man’s name and condition have not been released yet.
