Crews responded to a house fire in Hanover this morning.

Deputy Fire Chief Jason Cavallaro said they were called the home at 747 Whiting Street at 6:18.

“When units arrived on scene, we found fire on the exterior of the building that was spreading from the ground up to the top of the structure, on the exterior,” said Cavallaro.

He says the home was occupied at the time, but the homeowners got out safely and there were no injuries.

Mutual aid from Rockland and Norwell responded to the scene.

“We were able to contain the fire to the exterior of the building,” said Cavallaro. “Crews checked the interior of the building from the basement up to the attic. It is a bloom-frame construction but there was no fire spread to the interior.”

Cavallaro said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
